Arsenal confirm 25-man squad after £60m Martinelli sale and Bartishvili medical

Arsenal have announced their 25-man senior squad for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, mere hours after finalising a series of high-profile transfers.

The announcement came as the club continued its aggressive recruitment drive during the current transfer window.

Among the notable arrivals, Bruno Guimaraes completed his switch to North London from Newcastle United in a deal worth £75m earlier this summer.

The Brazilian international bolsters Mikel Arteta’s midfield options significantly.

Another defensive reinforcement arrived in the form of Ezri Konsa, who joined from Aston Villa for an initial fee of £51m.

The club also secured the services of Christos Tzolis, a left-sided forward, from Belgian side Club Brugge in a £34m transaction.

Goalkeeper Illan Meslier arrived on a free transfer following his departure from Leeds United.

Two individuals were conspicuously absent from the confirmed list.

Gabriel Martinelli has left the club, having completed a £60m transfer to Al-Hilal on Thursday.

The Brazilian, aged 25, had fallen down the pecking order under Arteta’s management.

Andria Bartishvili is similarly omitted from the registered squad.

The 17-year-old completed his medical examination with Arsenal on Thursday ahead of a £3.9m move.

However, due to his age, official registration cannot occur until he turns 18 next summer, when he will sign a five-year contract.

He will continue his development at FC Kolkheti 1919 until that time.

The roster encompasses numerous players aged 21 and under, including scholarship students and those on loan arrangements.

Several names bear asterisks indicating homegrown status under Premier League regulations.

Under Premier League guidelines, top-flight clubs must limit their 25-man rosters to a maximum of 17 non-homegrown participants.

Homegrown status applies to any player, regardless of nationality, who has been registered with clubs affiliated to the Football Association or Welsh Football Association for at least three complete seasons before their 21st birthday.

Players under 21 fall outside these restrictions and remain eligible for selection.

Arsenal have made an encouraging beginning to the new season, securing victories in each of their opening two league fixtures.

The campaign opened with a commanding 3-0 home success against Coventry City, followed by a narrow 1-0 triumph over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

The team’s focus now turns to an imminent London derby confrontation with Chelsea, scheduled to take place at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 6.
