Both Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer bid for PSG forward Bradley Barcola.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola has been mentioned as a potential target for Arsenal and Liverpool during this summer’s transfer period.
Arsenal have received a significant update regarding Bradley Barcola, as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have conducted important discussions about whether the French winger could be available for transfer this summer.
The Athletic reports that conversations between Andoni Iraola’s club and the French side are crucial to resolving the summer situation, with Barcola interested in a transfer to Merseyside.
Liverpool see the winger as a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah following his exit from Anfield earlier this year.
Arsenal are also supporters of the 23-year-old, with the Gunners seeking to bolster their attack after Leandro Trossard’s exit, and Gabriel Martinelli appears near to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Barcola is among the players mentioned in connection with a move to Emirates Stadium, though significant funds would be required to bring him to the Premier League.
The report states PSG are seeking a fee of approximately £145million, while Liverpool are aiming to pay closer to the £100million mark.
Barcola has two years left on his current deal with the double Champions League winners, but has stated he will not prolong his time in Paris.
The French international found the net 13 times and provided seven assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for PSG last season, playing a significant part in their defence of their European trophy and Ligue 1 championship.
Barcola primarily operates on the left side of the attack, which explains Arsenal’s interest, though he can also feature on the right flank, which appeals to Liverpool.
Bradley Barcola appears set to depart PSG this summer with Liverpool expressing interest.
It remains uncertain whether Mikel Arteta and Arsenal will pursue the Frenchman in the closing days of the transfer window, with reports suggesting they are planning a major move for Julian Alvarez.
Barcelona had expressed interest in signing the Argentinian international, with Alvarez indicating his desire to join Hansi Flick’s side.
However, the La Liga club are reluctant to sell to a direct competitor, though Alvarez’s statements have not won favour with the Atletico supporters.
He stated he had discussions with the relevant people at Atletico and that a transfer would be best for all parties, expressing his desire to fulfil his dream.
He mentioned it is not the right moment to discuss this matter but also noted he cannot conceal it, striving to be straightforward.
The former Manchester City forward was greeted with jeers on his return to La Liga action, helping Simeone’s side secure a 2-2 draw against Villarreal on Sunday.
